Mallorca is regarded as a mecca for cycling, and for good reason. In a compact area you'll find almost every type of terrain: high mountain hairpins in the Serra de Tramuntana, long flat coastal roads around the Bay of Alcúdia, rolling hinterland in the Es Pla and quiet back roads in the south. On top of that comes a dense, well-surfaced road network where you can often ride for miles without meeting a single car — ideal for focused training and relaxed leisure rides alike.

That's exactly why a good bike rental in Mallorca is the key to the perfect cycling holiday. You don't need to pack your own bike, wrestle with oversized luggage at the airport or risk any transport damage. Instead a professionally serviced, high-end bike is waiting for you — and if you wish, it's already at your hotel when you arrive.

At Elite Sports we have been active on the island since 2024, looking after road cyclists, gravel enthusiasts, mountain bikers and e-bikers from all over Europe. We don't just hire out bikes — we also advise you on routes, climbing metres and the right gearing for the mountains, so your bike genuinely matches your plans.

Serra de Tramuntana (west): The mountain range in the north-west is the heart of cycling on Mallorca. Legendary climbs such as Sa Calobra, the Coll de Sóller, the Puig Major (the island's highest pass) and the ride out to Cap de Formentor draw thousands of road cyclists every year. Towns like Sóller, Valldemossa, Banyalbufar and Andratx make perfect staging points. Here every gear ratio counts — a light carbon road bike or an e-road bike with motor assistance makes all the difference.

North / Bay of Alcúdia: Around Alcúdia, Port d'Alcúdia, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort and Pollença is where the perfect cycling day begins for many riders. The region is the classic cycling-camp base: flat warm-up roads along the coast from which you can turn off towards the Tramuntana or inland whenever you like. From Port de Pollença the classic route heads out to Cap de Formentor with its famous views.

East, centre and south: The east around Artà, Capdepera, Cala Ratjada and Cala Millor offers quiet, hilly routes with little traffic. The centre (Es Pla) with Sa Pobla, Santa Margalida, Petra, Sineu and Manacor is rolling, easy-going terrain, ideal for long base rides and gravel tours along farm tracks. In the south around Palma, Llucmajor, Cap Blanc, Santanyí and Ses Salines you'll find wide, empty roads and beautiful stretches of coastline.

Road & endurance: For tarmac, mountain passes and long days in the saddle, our road bikes from Canyon, Orbea and Rose are the first choice. Fast aero road bikes come into their own on the coastal roads, while comfort-focused endurance models with a slightly more relaxed geometry are ideal for multi-day tours through the Tramuntana — stable handling, more comfort, yet still light and quick.

Gravel: If you want to head off the tarmac, hire a gravel bike. It opens up the dirt tracks and farm roads of the Es Pla, links the coast with the hinterland and lets you ride routes that simply aren't possible on a pure road bike. Gravel is the most versatile choice if you want to combine tarmac with nature.

Mountain bike & e-bike: For the trails of the Tramuntana and technical terrain we offer mountain bikes as well as e-MTBs, including models from Thok. E-bikes — whether an e-road bike or an e-mountain bike — are the perfect solution when you're riding at different paces, want to enjoy the big passes without limits or simply prefer a more relaxed ride. The motor evens out the climbing and differences in fitness, so the whole group stays together.

The best cycling season on Mallorca falls in spring from February to May and in autumn from October to November. In these months the temperatures are pleasant, the roads quieter than in high summer and the conditions ideal for long rides and training camps. Many clubs and ambitious amateur riders schedule their season build-up on the island precisely at this time.

If you're planning a training camp, it pays to book early. In peak season demand for premium bikes is high and popular models are quickly taken. As our booking is binding, your reservation secures exactly the bike you've chosen — including the right frame size and a bike fit on site.

For groups of five bikes or more we're happy to put together individual terms. Whether it's a club, a group of friends or a family, just tell us the dates, the number of riders and the bike types you'd like, and we'll take care of the logistics — including island-wide delivery to your accommodation.

Booking takes only a few minutes: you choose your bike and dates online, say whether you'll collect in Can Picafort or would like island-wide delivery, and complete the booking. Confirmation comes straight to you by email. Payment is quick and secure by credit card, PayPal or bank transfer — we don't take cash.

At handover we set your bike up professionally to suit you: we adjust the saddle height, handlebar position and pedals so you ride comfortably and efficiently from the very first kilometre. Insurance against damage, a puncture kit with a spare inner tube, tyre levers and a pump, plus our support, are always included. We don't ask for a deposit — a valid ID is all you need.

If you run into any problem out on the road, you can reach us by WhatsApp, phone or email. At the end of your rental we collect the bike from you, or you return it to our station in Can Picafort. That spares you the logistics and leaves you free to focus on the riding.
